MTN Ghana Launches Broadband Services

MTN, Ghana’s leading Telecommunications Company in voice and data services has launched its fibre broadband service in Accra.

MTN Fibre Broadband service provides high-speed internet access and can facilitate live streaming of online TV channels or Video on Demand, home and office automation including security services, among others.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister for Communications, Mr. George Andah said “Broadband access has now become a critical infrastructure requirement because of its direct impact on the development of an information society in this digital age and is increasingly becoming the emphasis for unlocking and accelerating knowledge and technology based economies, as well as enabling GDP growth.

“The Ministry is excited to see private sector stakeholders like MTN take such giant steps in pursuit of initiatives which will ultimately serve as a foundation for the achievement of not only individual but our national goals.”

General Manager for MTN Business, Mr. Sam Addo said “We firmly believe that everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected world and we are not stopping till every home is served. Our goal is to provide our customers affordable and reliable services.”

The Fibre to the Home festival launch also marked the introduction of a number of promos for both existing and new customers of MTN Ghana.

Existing customers of MTN Ghana, from January 1st to March 2018, who take part in point based promotion on FTTH Data usage stand the chance of winning amazing prizes such as Mobile phones, Routers, Modems, Souvenirs etc.

New customers who connect to the broadband network, will be given free installation and free bundle equivalent to the current subscription and a sign-up surprise among others. The MTN Home Festival starts from the 18th of December 2017 to the 18th of March 2018.

With about 17 million voice subscribers, MTN Ghana has been at the forefront of innovations within the telecoms industry.  The fiber broadband service will also promote economic development and services and enhance the quality of life of Ghanaians.
