MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications service provider, has swept six prestigious awards at the just ended HR Focus Awards.

For the third time in a row, the telecommunications giant was adjudged the Overall Best Organization in HR Practice. MTN was also awarded Best Organizational Culture, Employer of Choice, Best HR Management in Telecommunication and IT, and Best Organization Information System. In addition, the Human Resource Executive of MTN, Mrs. Amma Benneh-Amponsah was adjudged the HR Practitioner of the Year.

These awards were in recognition of MTN’s continual display of professionalism, technical expertise and outstanding performance in the delivery of exemplary people practices.

A citation, signed by the President of the HR Focus Committee, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan and presented to MTN at the awards ceremony, reads “Your HR visibility and role are second to none. You have established yourselves not just as leaders, but as pacesetters. You have left a trail of excellence with regards to Human Resource Management and have set a standard that is worthy of emulation…”

MTN was further lauded for creating a conducive environment for growth and operating a positive corporate structure where staff are treated fairly and with respect.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Mrs. Benneh-Amponsah said: “I believe the awards MTN has won today are a testament of our best practices. We effectively use feedback we solicit from our staff to improve on the quality and processes of working.

We also continually train our employees and ensure that the right performance structures are put in place. This translates to the quality of service and products MTN provides for its customers.”

She dedicated the awards to the hardworking and dedicated staff of MTN. She also encouraged all HR practitioners to be focused and strive for excellence.

The HR Awards is organized by the HR Focus Magazine to identify and reward organizations that have the tradition of best practices in Human Resource Management.

Over the years, MTN has been lauded for the business’ unequalled commitment to high performance through exceptional people management.

MTN is the first in Corporate Ghana to be awarded a Gold accreditation by Investors in People International, the international standard for people management.
