Music Is Best Investment Avenue – Sarkodie

Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie says music is one of the most rewarding investments, ranking it alongside real estate and other top industries.

To the rapper, music is not just an art, it a goldmine. Speaking in an interview with broadcaster NYDJ on 25 September 2025, the award-winning rapper said the music business holds immense financial power that many outsiders fail to recognize.

According to him, while industries like manufacturing demand constant spending on staff, machines, and maintenance, music works differently. Once the creative process is done, songs can generate money for years with little or no overhead costs.

If anybody tells you that music doesn’t make money, they’re lying. One of the best industries you can get into is music. One of the best investments you can make is up there with real estate; it’s up there with any product you can think about. Music is the same, and it’s even better than a lot of products.

He further urged investors to take the industry seriously and support artistes fully, stressing that music’s ability to earn over time makes it one of the most sustainable ventures.

Because with most products, you have to sit down and do servicing. You’re still paying staff; you’re paying people to keep it running. If you’re doing drinks, the machines have to be greased, you have people doing all this labour, and you’re paying. Music doesn’t take that. It’s in the air, and you’re making money. It doesn’t get better than that. So, I would urge investors to come in fully and support the artiste,

Just days after sharing these thoughts, Sarkodie proved his words by delivering a spectacular edition of his flagship Rapperholic concert. On 27 September 2025, he took the event to Kumasi for the first time in years, staging what he called a “Homecoming” show.

For him, this was more than a concert, it was a heartfelt return to his roots and a tribute to the Ashanti capital.

The build-up was massive. Posters filled Kumasi’s streets, rehearsal videos went viral, and the city buzzed with anticipation. Sarkodie himself set the tone by visiting the Asantehene and leading a health walk through the city ahead of the big night.

When the evening arrived, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium filled quickly despite heavy rains. Fans, determined not to miss the moment, danced through DJ sessions as they waited for the main acts. Rising stars Hindu & Kweku Bany opened the show, followed by favourites like Efya, Kweku Smoke, Kweku Flick, and Oseikrom Sikani, each raising the excitement higher.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for. Sarkodie stormed the stage in a blaze of lights and pyrotechnics, performing with unmatched energy and passion. The crowd echoed his lyrics back at him, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration.

The night hit a dramatic climax when dancehall king Shatta Wale joined him on stage. Their surprise collaboration shook the stadium, with fans flooding social media afterward to hail the show as one of the most unforgettable concerts of 2025.
