NACOC Shuts Down Pub, Arrests Three in Midnight Operation

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has closed down the Amsterdam Pub at Laboma along the La-Teshie Beach road following an overnight intelligence-led operation targeting narcotic-related activities at the entertainment facility.

The operation, conducted on Friday, September 4, 2026, resulted in the arrest of three suspects who are currently assisting with investigations. A full probe has since been launched into activities taking place at the premises.

According to NACOC, the operation was triggered by intelligence indicating that the facility was being used in connection with narcotic-related activities. Acting on that information, officers carried out the raid, leading to the apprehension of the three individuals.

However, the prime suspect linked to the narcotics operations remains at large. Additional intelligence officers have been deployed to track down and arrest the fugitive as investigations continue.

The self-styled coffee shop has been closed to facilitate ongoing investigations and prevent the premises from being used for further narcotic-related activities while the case is being pursued.

The operation forms part of a broader intelligence-driven strategy by NACOC to identify, disrupt, and dismantle locations and networks suspected of facilitating the distribution, sale, and use of illicit narcotic substances.

In a warning to operators of pubs, nightclubs, lounges, and other entertainment establishments, the Commission cautioned against allowing their premises to become conduits for narcotic-related activities.

NACOC reiterated its commitment to pursuing businesses engaged in the sale, distribution, or facilitation of illicit narcotic substances, vowing to sustain enforcement actions across the country.
