NAPO SUPPORTS OTUMFUO ANNIVERSARY
THE MANHYIA Palace, the official seat of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has taken delivery of 50 dustbins, donated by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, to help support Otumfuo’s 20 years anniversary celebrations.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Constituency donated the items on behalf of ‘Napo’, who was out of town.
Prior to the donation, dozens of NPP members embarked on a cleanup exercise. Dressed in the yellow, black and green colours of Asanteman, they cleaned the surrounds of the palace.
Haruna Alhassan, the constituency secretary, said the gesture was to boost sanitation during the anniversary, which is billed to attract a lot of people from all walks of life.
Saamanhene, Nana Osei Kwaku III, on behalf of Otumfuo and Nananom, lauded Napo for his gesture.
For his part, the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey said Napo deserve praise for his roles to improve sanitation in Kumasi.
