Napo wins third award in 3 months

THE MINISTER of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has once again been awarded for his tireless efforts and contributions to the transformation of the country.

Nicknamed as ‘Napo’ in political circles, he has received the enviable UCIA 2021 Lifetime Achievers Award for Excellence in Leadership, during a colourful programme.

Napo was awarded a Honorary Doctorate Degree by the University of Education, Winneba, in May 2021, for working to improve education in the country.

Also, just last June, he received a Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra for his splendid contributions.

The latest award, which was presented to him in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region last Friday, was intended to honour and motivate Napo to sustain his positive works.

According to the UCIA, they are highly impressed about the outstanding performance of Napo, especially during his days at the Education and the Energy Ministries, so far.

A citation from the UCIA said “The UCIA 2021 Lifetime Achievers Award for Excellence in Leadership presented to Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (MP/Minister of Energy).

“For your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to excellence beyond the call of duty”, adding that Napo was indeed a true example of a modern and a visionary leader.

The Manhyia South NPP Secretary, Haruna Alhassan, who received the UCIA award on behalf of his boss, said Napo feels humbled as his positive efforts have been recognized.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s exemplary works in the education and and energy ministries has also been seen globally as the the United Nations (UN) also honoured him recently.
