NDC BLASTS NPP …Over Limited Registration

THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been accused of trying to manipulate the system for the ongoing Limited Voter Registration to favour them.

Francis Dodovi, an outspoken member of the largest opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), made the accusation in Kumasi recently.

According to him, he was aware that the Suame Municipal Assembly had been transporting people to the venue of the registration, and wondered why it should be so.

Mr. Dodovi, who sounded very angry, in an interview with THE NEW PUBLISHER, said it is not right for the Municipal Assembly to ferry people to the venue.

According to him, the decision of the Assembly to ferry people to the venue of the limited registration exercise amounted to interference.

“Nobody has begged the Suame Municipal Assembly to provide a car to convey people to the venue of the important exercise. This is an avoidable interference.

“Everybody knows that the appointees to the Suame Municipal Assembly are known NPP members, therefore their decision to interfere in the registration exercise is unfortunate”.

He opined that the state had provided enough logistics and financial support for the Electoral Commission to work, “so the NPP should leave the EC to work in peace”.
