THE OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a plan to jail most of the appointees of President Nana Akufo-Addo, if they recapture power in this year’s polls.
A key member of the NDC in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi aka ‘King Zuba’, made the shocking announcement in Kumasi on Tuesday.
According to him, most of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government officials are corrupt, who are illegally amassing wealth at the expense of the country and its people.
King Zuba did not give any evidence to prove his claim.
He stated that the incoming NDC administration, led by ex-President John Dramani Mahama, would make sure that most of the NPP officials are jailed.
“We are aware of all the corrupt practices that have become the order of the day among top officials in this NPP government, under the watch of President Akufo-Addo.
“Mark my words, the incoming Mahama-led government would not waste time to arrest and jail all the corrupt NPP officials”, King Zuba, an ex-MCE for Obuasi, declared.
He alleged that the President has made it easy and possible for his appointees to ransack state resources, a development that is hampering the growth of the country.
“We shall start jailing the corrupt NPP government appointees as early as April 2021 after recapturing political power”, the former Obuasi MCE, said on Akoma FM.
He denied reports that the NDC were sponsoring several NPP members that are contesting as independent candidates in some constituencies in the Ashanti Region.
King Zuba said “we have no hand in the NPP members that are contesting as independent candidates”, adding that the numerous independent candidates shows that NPP would lose”.
