Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr. Eric Adjei on Friday, September 19, joined the British Council of Ghana, IOT and NYA to officially launch the Digital Innovation & Innovation Employability (DIVE) training program.
DIVE is a digital skills training programme by British Council in collaboration with other partners to provide digital skills to 80 young Ghanaians who have demonstrated commitment, dedication and passion to digital innovate to create decent jobs whilst solving our developmental challenges.
Mr. Eric Adjei used the opportunity to encourage the youth to take the training program seriously, maximize its full potentials and make use of the skills to solve our wicked problems such as unemployment and poverty.
Again, he used the opportunity to share with the beneficiaries the entrepreneurial opportunities under The Adwumawura Programme- a flagship by H.E. John Dramani Mahama government programme to build the capacity of 10,000 youth-own businesses.
In addition, he commended the British Council and IOT for their continuous forging of partnerships of this kind to build the capacity of Ghana youth, and pledged NEIP’s commitment and continued support to build the entrepreneurial capacity of Ghanaian youth.
About The Adwumawura Programme
The Programme is a fulfillment of the NDC campaign promise to prioritize youth empowerment and job creation.
The AdwumaWura Programme aims to create, track, and monitor young businesses annually, with a special focus on the youth.
In its first phase, the top 2,000 implementable business proposals will receive comprehensive support, including:
- Business Development Training: Equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in business.
- Mentorship: Pairing young entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders and mentors.
- Access to Start-up Capital: Providing financial support to help young entrepreneurs turn their business ideas into reality.
- Marketing and Networking: Offering platforms for young entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, and connect with potential customers and partners.
The Programme is expected to have a significant impact on Ghana’s economy, as it will help to create jobs, stimulate innovation, and promote entrepreneurship among young people.
