No Bail: Agradaa Sent Back To Jail

The High Court, yesterday July 15, denied a bail application that was requested by social media fanatic and leader of Heaven Way chapel, Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Agradaa who has been sentenced to a 15-year jail term with hard labour.

Nana Agradaa, was seeking the bail pending the outcome of her appeal against her jail term but her lawyers confirmed that bail request was not grated and she therefore returns to continue serving her term.

“We wanted bail pending appeal, and the court did not grant it. The court has given an order that the Circuit Court furnish the court with all the processes needed for the appeal. We will continue the appeal process,” Nana Agradaa’s lawyer, Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah told CitiNews after the court hearing on Tuesday.

A good number of her church members had gathered at the court yard and were heard cheering her up when she was being moved into a waiting vehicle to be whisked away after the hearing.

Nana Agradaa, a former traditional priestess, now claiming to be a repented Christian leader was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Circuit Court in Accra on 3rd July, 2025, after being found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences.

The Court found her guilty of charlatanic practices,  involvement in fraudulent religious activities and orchestrating a money-doubling scam during a televised church service in 2022.

She was found to have falsely claimed during the television broadcast to possess spiritual powers that could miraculously multiply cash for those who contributed money to her ministry.

Nana Agradaa’s false claims, widely disseminated via her Today-TV channel and other social media platforms, led several unsuspecting victims to part with large sums of money in anticipation of miraculous financial returns but she never fulfilled the promises and also never returned their monies.
