NPP Peddling Falsehood – Yamoah Ponkoh

The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu Juaben who is a senior member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Yaw Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led government of peddling falsehood to cover its failures and flaws so as to maintain political power in 2020 and beyond.

According to Ponkoh, there is total hardship across the length and breadth of the country but the NPP administration is relying on propaganda to cover up their shortfalls.

“Let’s be honest my brother, there is hunger in the country now due to the government’s lackadaisical performance but the NPP still wants to paint a picture that everything is right.

“That is the same strategy they used when they were in opposition; they lied against Mr. John Mahama, who was the President then, in order to create disaffection for him.

“And through their well rehearsed lies, the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo were able to win the presidential elections”, Yamoah Ponkoh said on Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

The NDC bigwig, who is very outspoken, said the NPP administration is noted for taking credit for things that they (NPP) didn’t work for , including achievements of the former government under the leadership of John Mahama.

For instance, he said, the NPP wants to take credit for the re-emergence of the Anglogold Ashanti Mine at Obuasi when, according to him, the party in government played no role in that feat.

Gradually, Yamoah Ponkoh noted, Ghanaians are becoming aware of the lies and propagandist works of the NPP, especially as the next general election approaches.

Sounding confident, he predicted that President Nana Akufo-Addo would lose the impending elections to the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama, former President, now aspiring president.
