NPP Primaries: I Deserve Another Term To Serve – Ursula Owusu

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ablekuma West Constituency, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful says she deserves another term having served her constituents very well as an MP.

According to her, the electorate wanted her to go back to Parliament to continue the good works she was doing, having worked hard to address most of the challenges facing the constituency.

She disclosed this last Friday when she submitted her nomination forms for the upcoming parliamentary primary in the constituency.

“For the three years the NPP has been in power, I have been able to lobby for developmental projects, that is how come most of the inner-roads in the constituency are being constructed. Ablekuma West deserves better and this is not the time to conduct any experiment.

We can’t afford to leave the constituency in the hands of trainees and people who don’t have the necessary experience. I have been tried and tested, gone through the mill, so I urge you all to give me a resounding victory on April 25”. she said.

Campaign

She admonished other parliamentary aspirants and supporters to conduct campaigns devoid of insults and character assassination to ensure peace and tranquility in the party.

According to her, parliamentary primaries are internal elections the party conducts to select suitable, credible, marketable and unblemished candidates to contest polls against opponents in other political parties in the general election.

She urged other aspirants and their followers to desist from slandering and humiliating their opponents and conduct a decent campaign, adding that insults and misconduct would not help the party.

She called on the rank and file to ensure that unity becomes their ultimate goal and the only panacea to help the party win the December 7 general elections.

Developmental Projects

She urged the delegates to endorse her again to enable her continue the good works started three years ago to improve the living standards of the people.

She said the government under President Akufo-Addo had managed the fragile economy inherited from the previous government and it had become one of the fastest-growing economies in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Mrs. Ursula Owusu since she gained seat as Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency has embarked on several developmental projects, including facilitating the construction of roads and the launching of “work, pay and own taxi scheme”.

The scheme has since empowered the beneficiaries economically as they were given a period of three years to make payments.

Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is also credited for spearheading government’s digitisation agenda, which has helped transformed Ghana’s socio-economic development.

4 More Years To Do More

Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful in her closing remarks charged the gathering to vote four more years for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the upcoming December elections as well as for her to retain her seat as Member of Parliament for the constituency.

According to her, four more years is needed for the current administration to advance the course of development in Ghana with respect to the Ablekuma West residents.

Responding to cheers, the legislator said her administration has built a solid foundation which must be maintained and expanded after the 2020 election.

”Just 3 years, 2 months into office and the change you all voted for in 2016 has been seen. There is no household in Ghana which has not felt the positive impact of the Akufo-Addo government. Ablekuma West has seen the impact in the able leadership of the NPP, reason we calling for more years to do more. 4 more for Nana, 4 more for Ursula”

Action Woman

Constituency Chairman of the party, Bright Osei Puni on his part described Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful as an action woman.
