NPP Rallies Members To Join Nationwide General Cleaning

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its members across the country to actively participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise scheduled for today, Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, in support of the government’s renewed campaign to improve environmental sanitation.

The directive, issued by the party’s leadership, encourages members at the constituency, regional and national levels to take part in the exercise as a demonstration of civic responsibility and commitment to national development.

Despite the party having an internal exercise to elect constituency executives across the country, it still charged its members to join the clean-up exercise immediately after casting their ballots, noting that voting in the constituency elections will be conducted on a walk-in basis.

“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NP) directs all members of the party to actively participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise declared by the President, scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.

“In view of the party’s Constituency Elections on Saturday, July 11, 2026, members are encouraged to participate in the cleaning exercise immediately after casting their ballots, as voting is conducted on a walk-in basis” noted in a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.

The statement concluded by admonishing its members that, participation in the nationwide exercise is an opportunity for party faithful to demonstrate leadership through community service while supporting efforts to improve public health and environmental cleanliness.

The nationwide cleaning exercise was announced by the government as part of a broader strategy to promote cleaner communities, reduce indiscriminate waste disposal and strengthen public participation in sanitation activities.

The exercise will take place in the Greater Accra, Volta, Central, Western, Western North, Ashanti, and Eastern regions, which were affected by the recent floods.
