Ntim Goes Solo In NPP Race

An aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman position, Stephen Ntim, has debunked speculations that he has preferences in other positions being contested in the party.

There were reports that Mr. Ntim, who is very resourceful, was secretly sponsoring other candidates, who are vying for other executive positions in the party, with cash and logistics to help them win.

Other reports even had it that Mr. Ntim has created a team of candidates, who he has been supporting from behind the scenes so that they would defeat their opponents, who are also NPP members.

Reacting to the allegation, Mr. Ntim stated that “I have not formed any team among the contestants, who I have been sponsoring to help them to win their various positions in the upcoming party polls.

“In fact, I am going solo in the NPP race as I don’t have any preferences. I am concentrating and campaigning so that I will emerge victorious in my race so I don’t have time to take over other people’s campaign”.

Mr. Ntim, who was speaking on radio in Kumasi, stated that as a person he may have sympathies for some of the candidates “But it is not proper for him to openly or secretly campaign for other candidates”.

He described the upcoming NPP national elections, scheduled to take place in June, this year, as a family affair, therefore he would freely work with all the winners, should he be elected as the party’s national chairman.

Mr. Ntim, who sounded very confident, reiterated his claim that he is the favourite in the upcoming elections, stressing that the party’s delegates have resolved to vote massively for him to lead the NPP.

According to him, the NPP delegates are ready to reward him for his loyalty, commitment, dedication and hard work to the party.

Mr. Ntim, who had missed the chance of being elected as NPP national chairman on three occasions in the past, stated confidently that “I will be fourth time lucky this year because I am wining the polls”.

He assured that when elected as national chairman of the NPP, he would work assiduously to ensure that the party’s constituency offices across the 275 constituencies in the country are revamped.
