ODIKE: Akufo-Addo is my motivation

FOUNDER AND Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai, is very confident to become Ghana’s president one day in his political career.

Widely known as ‘Odike’ in the political circles, the businessman cum politician has attempted to become the president several times but he failed woefully.

Despite the setbacks and disappointments, Odike is still brimming with confidence to finally break the jinx and become the president of the country in future.

According to him, he has picked his motivation from President Nana Akufo-Addo of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), who also struggled to become president.

“I know that definitely I will become the president of Ghana one day or very soon in my political career and President Nana Akufo-Addo is serving as my motivation.

“Nana Akufo-Addo attempted to become president and endured countless setbacks and disappointments, yet he did not give up and now he is the president”, he said.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with THE NEW PUBLISHER, Odike stated emphatically that he would also not give up and continue to fight on till he becomes president.

Interestingly, Odike, an outspoken politician, has consistently lambasted the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration, accusing them of non-performance.

His most recent has swipe at President Nana Akufo-Addo was over the depreciation of the Cedi.
According to him, the President and his team of ministers lack ideas to manage the economy, therefore he was not surprised that the Cedi had taken a nosedive recently.

In this regard, the UPP leader stated that the NPP government’s desire to introduce the E-Levy taxing system, should be opposed.

“President Akufo-Addo’s government doesn’t need money but ideas to bring renaissance and life into the economy”, the outspoken politician indicated.

Odike pointed out that the country’s economy was in a great mess currently because the government lacked ideas to make the Cedi stronger and better.

He also stated that President Akufo-Addo and his NPP administration does not deserve to be given another term after totally messing up the economy.

Odike, therefore appealed to the citizenry to vote massively for the UPP in the 2024 elections to save the country.
