The head pastor of Mahanaim Christian Centre in Ankaful, Cape Coast, Reverend Dr. Ebenezer Conduah, has appeared in court for allegedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl and recording videos of her naked on his phone. He remains innocent until proven guilty by Court.
The Ghana Police Service, working with the Cybersecurity Authority (CSA) and the National Security, arrested Conduah for offences involving the minor, including defilement and the production and possession of child sexual abuse materials. The arrest took place in the early hours of March 6, 2026, at his apartment in Woraba, a suburb of Eguase, Cape Coast.
According to the arresting officials, Rev. Conduah, who also operates under the Facebook profile “Reverend Dr. Ebenezer Conduah,” presents himself as a trained gynecologist and international marriage counselor. Investigations revealed that in August 2021, he invited a 13-year-old junior high school student into his home, claiming he would provide spiritual counseling and behavioral correction. From that time, the suspect allegedly subjected the girl to repeated sexual abuse over an extended period.
The pastor reportedly recorded videos of the abuse on his mobile phone. In some instances, he forced the victim to hold materials displaying an adult pornographic website and to state on camera that she was accessible on the platform, apparently intending to distribute the content online.
The abuse came to light when the survivor confided in her school headmistress. A formal complaint was filed with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Cape Coast, which referred the case to the circuit court.
Upon his arrest, police recovered several items from Conduah’s home, now under forensic analysis. These include one HP laptop, three external hard drives, five pen drives, one Android phone, one tablet, two electronic vibrators with accessories, assorted used and unused contraceptives, lubricants, a used pregnancy test kit, and two ladies’ panties.
Forensic investigators, with assistance from the CSA, discovered evidence of the production of child sexual abuse materials and three private pornographic website accounts stored on his digital devices.
In a press briefing on March 9, 2026, COP Lydia Yaa Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), said “one of the videos allegedly showed a naked child holding a white card with the web address of a popular pornographic website, while a male voice instructed the victim to say they were on the platform.”
Conduah, already facing a defilement charge at Cape Coast Circuit Court, was brought before the Adenta Circuit Court in Accra on March 8, 2026. He faced two provisional counts: indecent image or photograph of a child and dealing with a child for purposes of sexual abuse, contrary to Sections 62 and 63 of the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038).
The Adenta Circuit Court does not have jurisdiction, but he was arraigned there to comply with the constitutional requirement that a person arrested must appear in court within 48 hours. He has been remanded into prison custody and is expected to appear before the High Court in Accra later this week.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Fuseini Yakubu, presenting the prosecution’s facts, said the CSA received a request for technical assistance from DOVVSU on December 8, 2025, to conduct forensic analysis of Conduah’s digital devices in connection with eight defilement cases pending at Cape Coast Circuit Court One.
DSP Yakubu explained that the examination uncovered materials suspected to contain child sexual abuse content involving multiple victims. He added that Conduah admitted recording the videos and confirmed that the male voice in the videos was his. The accused declined to comment further without consulting his lawyers.
The forensic analysis of the recovered devices is ongoing. Newly retrieved digital exhibits will be sent to the CSA Digital Forensic Lab for further examination. Authorities say the investigation continues as they work to bring justice for the survivor and potential other victims.
