Pay Taxes Promptly – MCE Advices

THE MUNICIPAL Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, has appealed to residents in his municipality to pay their taxes promptly.

According to him, the assembly critically needs the taxes of the residents to carry out developmental projects.

He announced that the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly has lined up series of landmark infrastructural projects to help develop the area in the coming year.

The MCE was, however, of the view that all the better plans of the assembly would remain on the drawing board if the people refused to pay their taxes.

“I wish to plead with all to endeavour to pay your rates, license and fees to enable the assembly mobilize enough money.

“This will help us to increase the District Assemblies Common Fund and DDF allocation and also for our projects and programmes”, Alhaji Seidu said.

The MCE was speaking during the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly Town Hall Meeting, which was held at Asokore Mampong on Tuesday.

According to Mr. Seidu, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government had done a lot, in terms of infrastructure, to develop the area within the last two years.

He stated that the government still has intentions to do more for the area, but he was quick to remind the people that prompt payment of their taxes is important.

The Asokore Mamponghene, Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, prominent Zongo chiefs and people from all walks of life attended the programme.
