Philibert Fummey Track Progress Of Nsawam Bypass Project

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey, has confirmed steady progress on the Nsawam bypass project, particularly at the Adoagyiri overhead.

Announcing on his official Facebook page on Thursday, September 4, 2025, he stated that he conducted an inspection of the site together with officials from the Ghana Highways Authority.

According to him, the contractor has made significant strides, with work advancing at a satisfactory pace. He revealed that concerns raised by road users during the inspection were duly acknowledged by the Highway Authority and directives were issued to address them.

The measures, he stressed, are aimed at ensuring the safety and durability of the bypass when completed.

“This morning, together with officials from Ghana Highways Authority, I inspected the progress of work on the Nsawam bypass at the Adoagyiri overhead. The works on the road are proceeding in a satisfactory and progressive manner” part of the post reads.

He added, “The contractor has made significant strides in completing the project. During the inspection, officials from the Ghana Highways Authority duly noted concerns expressed by road users. These concerns were thoroughly reviewed, and directives were issued to address the issues to the highest standards, ensuring the road’s safety and quality”.

Mr. Fummey assured residents that the Assembly remains committed to supporting national efforts to fix critical road networks, which serve as lifelines for both commuters and businesses in the municipality.

Mahama Inspects Ofankor-Nsawam Road Project

Meanwhile, taking to his Facebook page on the same day, Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey, highlighted that President John Dramani Mahama assured commuters and residents along the Ofankor–Nsawam stretch of his government’s determination to complete the ongoing road project within schedule.

According to him, the President gave this assurance when he visited the construction site together with officials, Members of Parliament, and Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs).

The Ofankor–Nsawam road, which has for years caused heavy traffic and inconvenience to motorists, is currently undergoing major rehabilitation.

President Mahama commended the contractor for resuming work and urged him to stick to the agreed timeline in order to reduce the burden on drivers and residents. He noted that the road project, when completed, would not only improve travel time but also enhance business and social activities along the corridor.

The President emphasized that the project should be completed by the second quarter of 2026, cautioning the contractor to ensure quality delivery.

“We are committed to completing all unfinished projects we inherited, and this road is one of the key priorities because of its economic importance,” he said.

Joining the President during the inspection were the MCEs for Ga West, Ga North, Nsawam/Adoagyiri, as well as the MP for Amasaman, who all expressed optimism about the progress of the work.
