THREE persons suspected to have kidnapped and kept a 25-year-old Winefred Asieduwaa and made a phone call to demand an amount of money from her mother as the only condition they would free her had the shock of their lives when officers from the Ghana Police Service tracked them down using the phone number as enough lead to their hideout.
After they had kidnapped Winefred and smuggled her to a location they believed to be a hideout no one can trace, one of them used a mobile phone number to place a call to the mother of the victim and demanded an amount of money from her as ransom before they would release the innocent victim.
The mother gave the phone number to the Ghana Police Service and officers and men from the Abuakwa District police near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, used that number to successfully locate kidnappers and apprehended them from their hideout.
The kidnappers, who are in the firm grips of the police include two males, Justice Arhin, who is said to be 24 years old and Samuel Jackitey, who is 23 years old. The third suspect, who is a female, has also been identified 22-year-old Christiana Nyarko.
A police report seen by THE NEW PUBLISHER said “On 09/02/2026 at about 1950 hours, Hanson Gerrad Mensah, of Anloga–Oforikrom, Kumasi, reported at Tanoso Station that he received a telephone call from his aunt, one Badu, of Afram Plains.
“She alleged that her daughter, one Winefred Asieduwaa, aged 25 years, who left home for Kumasi about a week earlier, had been kidnapped by unknown persons at Tanoso, near Supreme Saviour Junction, and that the perpetrators were demanding ransom from the family.
“The suspects were tracked to the location and rescued the victim. Three suspects, namely Justice Arhin (24 years), Samuel Jackitey (23 years), and Christiana Nyarko (22 years) were arrested and detained for investigations”.
According to the police, Asieduwaa has since been set free and reunited with her family, indicating that the police have informed Asieduwaa to report to them (police) at a later date to assist further in their ongoing investigations into the matter.
