Plot Against Nana Poku Backfires

Political bellyachers and hyper critics apparently in pain over the fact that Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, the Kumasi Urban Roads Director, is cruising to become the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) got themselves enveloped in shame over the weekend when a diabolic agenda plotted against him backfired big time.

The professional faultfinders took over social media and started to hop from one radio station to another over the weekend with annoying claims that the Urban Roads Director is responsible for the flooding in parts of Kumasi and the Kejetia market which led to the death of four persons.

Having and human feeling for the dead and sympathy for their bereaved families, the accusers of Ing. Nana Poku Agyeman played politics with the sad incident and sought to blame him for the deaths as they yelled out ugly noises that he is therefore not fit to become the Chief Executive of the KMA.

The smear campaign could not stand when it was put to strict test as it turned out that Ing. Nana Poku Agyeman is the Director responsible for Urban Roads and not the Kumasi City Planning Engineer as his accusers were claiming.

Moreover it is ridiculous to blame the Director of Urban Roads for the flooding of the Kejetia Market center. Some of his accusers even wrongly referred to him as the City Planning Engineer.

Ing Nana Agyeman has over the years proven to be a development-oriented leader as he has countless number of accomplishments to his credit so far.

For instance, virtually all the road networks in Kumasi have witnessed massive facelift ever since he was appointed as the Kumasi Urban Roads Director.

When The New Publisher contacted Ing Nana Agyeman over the smear campaign by his opponents, he politely refused to comment about it.
Deep throats along the corridors of power at the Jubilee House, in the national capital of Accra, the seat of government, have disclosed that the renowned roads engineer is the overwhelming favourite for the position.

According to sources, among the few short-listed people for the vacant position, Ing Nana Poku Agyeman stands tall among them for the position.

For instance, they said in terms of competence, hard work and the person who has the confidence to lead Kumasi to restore its lost old glory days, Ing Nana Poku Agyeman without doubt, comes first.

The sources said top rank government officials at the Presidency are aware of the KMA has much room for improvement in its vision to develop Kumasi into a safe and vibrant city by improving city management through good governance, local economic development, tourism promotion improved sanitation, improved environmental and social services as well as spatial and infrastructure development.

Scores of residents from different social, academic and religious backgrounds have declared their support for Ing Nana Poku Agyeman. According to them, has the wherewithal, passion and the determination to lead the transformational processes of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, within a short time.

In this regard, they have called on the authorities responsible for the appointment of the next Kumasi Mayor to select Ing Nana Poku Agyeman so that Kumasi would become a modern city in no distant future.

Most of the Kumasi residents, including market women, commercial drivers, restaurant operators and hotel owners, just to mention a few, have started an open crusade to ensure that Ing Nana Poku Agyeman became the Mayor.

Interestingly, some of the people have taken to political radio talk shows and social media platforms such as WhatsApp, and Tweeter to campaign for the Kumasi Metro Roads Director to be appointed as the KMA boss.

According to the supporters, whose number keeps increasing on a daily basis, their idol has a positive track record of being a workaholic, team player, accommodative and a disciplinarian.
