Police arrest recalcitrant drivers

THREE DRIVERS have been apprehended for flouting road regulations in Ejisu, in the Ashanti Region.

A police team found the three drivers parking their vehicles around the Ejisu Roundabout, an unapproved area.

The security personnel, who were embarking on an operation on November 10, 2021, then arrested them.

The three drivers were identified as Berchie Emmanuel, Thomas Fosu and Moses Kusi, the police has said.

The police document seen by THE NEW PUBLISHER said the police operation was to help clamp down on bad drivers.

The drivers were hauled before the Effiduase Magistrate Court, where they were fined after being found guilty.

The court imposed a fine of Gh 1,200 each on the three drivers, which in total amounts to a whopping Gh 3,600.

In a related development, the Ejisu police have vowed to get rid of all recalcitrant drivers, plying their trade in the area.

According to them, the recent operation that led to the arrest of the three drivers would surely be replicated.

The police are of the opinion that such road operations would help prevent road crashes and protect human lives.
