Police Chase BOST Boss

…Over Death Threat

Unsubstantiated allegations that Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company, Alfred Obeng, had threatened to kill a man has made him a target of police investigations.

Mr. Alfred Obeng has accordingly been officially invited to report himself to the Tema Regional Police Command for questioning over the alleged death threats and also to help in investigations into the matter, the Tema Police Commander DCOP Asomah Hinneh was quoted by Joy News to have confirmed.

For what is suspected to be a business-related-misunderstanding, the BOST MD was alleged to have threatened to kill the head of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), Mr. Duncan Amoah.

The jaw-dropping allegation has gained wide publicity and attention.

BOST MD RUNS TO COURT

Mr. Alfred Obeng has however expressed shock at the allegation and sued Duncan Amoah over it.

The BOST MD is seeking the courts to order Duncan Amoah to retract the allegation and also to cough out an amount of GHC5 Million as damages for defamation.

In the suit filed by the BOST MD, he is demanding an amount of GHC2 Million from Duncan Amoah for “damaging his professional reputation”, demanding an additional amount of GHC2 Million for damaging his “social reputation” plus an extra GHC1 Million cash for the “psychological trauma” the allegations caused him.

POLICE PROTECTION

Meanwhile, the sued accuser, Duncan Amoah has asked for police protection after the supposed threat.  He says the BOST MD threatened his life after he, Duncan, had accused him, Alfred Obeng, of causing financial loss to the state.

Duncan Amoah

Duncan Amoah’s organization, Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) has insisted the BOST MD had caused some financial loss to the state to the tune of some GHC30 Million in the way and manner the company handled the sale of crude oil to BB Energy.

COPEC insists BB Energy was an unlicensed company at the time of the transaction in September 2017. COPEC has said it would be petitioning President Akufo-Addo over the matter.
