Police Grabs Four 18-Year-Old SHS Students Over Machete Assault
Four students of Ada Senior High Technical School have been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command after a disturbing video showing a student brandishing a cutlass and allegedly threatening colleagues on campus went viral on social media.
The alarming footage, which quickly spread across various online platforms and triggered widespread concern among parents, students and the general public, reportedly captured a tense scene involving a group of students in what authorities suspect may have stemmed from a disagreement on campus.
According to a statement issued by the Tema Regional Police Command, officers became aware of the incident in the early hours of Friday, May 22, 2026, after the video was intercepted online.
Part of the statement reads, “The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested four students of Ada Senior High Technical School following a viral video circulating on social media showing a student wielding a cutlass and threatening other students on campus.
“The incident came to the attention of the police at about 12:10 a.m. on 22 May 2026 after the video was intercepted online. A police night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene.”
The suspects who are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations have been named as Raymond Gyamfi, 18; Oscar Amemoair, 18; Odartey Wilson, 18; and one juvenile whose identity has been withheld in accordance with child protection protocols.
The statement gave strong words of advice to students to use peaceful and established school channels to settle disputes instead of resorting to threats, intimidation or violence.
In addition, parents and school administrators were urged to strengthen supervision, guidance and disciplinary measures to help maintain order and ensure a safe learning environment.
The Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police Command, ASP Dede Dzakpasu, assured the public that investigations remain active and additional information would be released as the case progresses.

FOUR ADA SHS STUDENTS ARRESTED AFTER A DISTURBING VIRAL VIDEO SURFACED ONLINE
- The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested four students of Ada Senior High Technical School following a viral video circulating on social media showing a student wielding a cutlass and threatening other students on campus.
- The incident came to the attention of the police at about 12:10 a.m. on 22 May 2026 after the video was intercepted online. A police night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene.
- With the assistance of school authorities, the police arrested Raymond Gyamfi, 18, Oscar Amemoair, 18, Odartey Wilson, 18, and one juvenile who were identified in the video. The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
- Students are advised to resolve disagreements peacefully through laid down school structures and refrain from acts of violence or intimidation. Parents and school authorities are also encouraged to strengthen guidance, supervision, and discipline among students to help maintain safety and order our various schools.
