PSG Beats Inter 5-0 to Win Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made history by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time, defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in an unforgettable final in Munich on Saturday 31st May, 2025.

This is the first time a French team has lifted the trophy since Olympique Marseille won the very first Champions League in 1993.

From the start, PSG showed great energy and control. Within the first 10 minutes, they dominated the game. Ousmane Dembele created the first chance but his shot was weak and easily saved by Inter’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

However, shortly after, PSG scored the first goal. Vitinha passed the ball to Desire Doue, who then set up Achraf Hakimi to score a simple goal inside the penalty box.

Inter Milan struggled to respond. Even after falling behind, they continued to play defensively and allowed PSG to control the match. The second goal came in the 20th minute when Dembele found Doue on the right wing. Doue’s shot was slightly deflected but still found the net, giving PSG a comfortable lead.

PSG’s dominance continued into the second half. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed two chances but Doue scored his second goal after a clever pass from Vitinha, making it 3-0. Soon after, Kvaratskhelia added the fourth goal, dribbling past tired Inter defenders and finishing calmly. The final goal came from Senny Mayulu, whose shot hit the post and went in, sealing a historic 5-0 win.

PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, praised his team’s high pressing and strong performance. He said they prepared calmly for the final and focused on keeping pressure on their opponents. This victory also made Luis Enrique one of the few managers to win a treble twice in Europe.

The win was emotional for PSG, especially for Enrique, who remembered his late daughter during the celebrations. Midfielder Vitinha said the win meant everything to the team and their fans, calling it a dream come true.

Inter’s coach Simone Inzaghi admitted PSG deserved the win but praised his players for their efforts throughout the season. Despite the heavy loss, he said the team would learn and come back stronger.

With this win, PSG not only won the Champions League for the first time after 168 games but also completed a treble, becoming the first French team to do so.
