The CEO of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards, Prince Mackay has dared Okay FM’s morning show host, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese to return award if he thinks the scheme is not credible.
This follows after the morning show host had opined that the award scheme is not credible.
He is reported to have accused the RTP boss of using the media as conduit to amass wealth for himself, and further called on all media houses to opt out.
Responding to the statement on SVTV Africa with host Ayisha Bayipa, Prince Makay said the outspoken show host should have rejected the award in 2014 when he won the best morning show host.
“We had over 275 people participating in the scheme, he won an award in 2014, so I don’t know why but if he thinks RTP is not credible, he should return the award, if nominees do not win any award they go about tarnishing the scheme, discrediting it,’’ He said.
Prince Makay believes Tikese not being nominated in the 2018 RTP awards triggered his statement.
When asked if he will accept the award when Tikese returns it, he replied ‘’Oh yeah we will take it and we will charge him for keeping the award for all these years. You cannot be holding an award you won in 2014 and discredit it in 2018 because you didn’t earn a nomination.”
He disclosed that the awards were purchased in the United States, and stressed that he would sue the presenter if he is not able to pay the charges on the number of years he kept the award.
The Radio and Television Personality Awards has been in existence over years and obviously, it has seen many set-backs, high level of criticism from all over and many other unfortunate accords.
Prince Mackay, the initiator of the Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP), has over the period remain a strong man despite all odds of setbacks, he has been seen as a tenacity and determination personified.
