Rex Omar: Trolling Stonebwoy over Grammys snub unnecessary

Rex Owusu Marfo known in the showbiz space as Rex Omar has spoken about those trolling Stonebwoy for not getting a nomination at the Grammy Awards.

He reacted in an interview on Property FM in Cape Coast “Just imagine that no matter how hard Stonebwoy is working and because he wasn’t nominated for the Grammy Awards some Ghanaians are trolling him.

“That’s what this country is and when these things happen as a human, we make the artiste become so discouraged and disappointed”.

Rex Omar further said it’s out of ignorance and jealousy that’s making some people trolling Stonebwoy.

“If for nothing at all Stonebwoy has performed on a lot of international platforms and at the end of the day we will say Stonebwoy is the Ghanaian artiste.

“That is what people must understand that when the artiste becomes popular globally they are marketing the country,” he remarked.

“So if you’re a Ghanaian and because of ignorance and jealousy you decide to troll Stonebwoy, then who are you trolling? You’re trolling yourself and the country”, he added

He again reacted to the death of a Ghanaian professional footballer, Raphael Dwamena who died on the pitch in Albania.

He said “All we can say is God keeps his soul and grant him peace and we extend our deepest condolences also to the family of Raphael Dwamena.

According to the legendary Highlife singer, the hardships in Ghana prevented the footballer from retiring when he was diagnosed with a heart condition.

“When things like this happen it’s quite worrisome and what will make a young Ghanaian decide to travel abroad to play football and be diagnosed with a heart problem but still continue to play football?

He told the host “You know it’s just one thing, there are too many hardships in this country and so the person travelled to find greener pastures in order to bring something home but it’s quite unfortunate.

“In all these let’s give thanks to God because the Bible says whatever that happens let’s give thanks to God and so we extend our condolences to his family,” he added.
