Issues of accidents all across the country has been very rampant in recent times, with almost hearing and witnessing news of accidents all over each day.
One person has been reported killed following a vehicular accident on the Aboadze-Takoradi road on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident involved a KIA truck with registration number AS 6005 – 09 and a tipper truck with registration number AS 6053-18.
The KIA truck was loaded with firewood and was heading towards Takoradi while the tipper truck was heading towards Aboadze.
The police has therefore confirmed the death of the KIA truck driver on the spot.
Parliament of Ghana has however summon the Minister in charge of Transport to the house to answer questions over recent accidents on our roads.
The decision follows a statement from Ledzorkuku Mp Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye on avoidable road traffic accidents.
The Mp in the statement called for aggressive prosecution of careless drivers. He related to recent accidents including that of colleague Mp for Awutu Senya West and deputy communications minister George Andah, who was airlifted to 37 military hospital for emergency care, following an accident in the Central region.
