Rotten dead body floats on river

RESIDENTS OF Nkawkrom, in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality, were greeted with the sad news of a dead man floating on the River Kobri on Monday.

The body of the unidentified man, which was almost at decomposed state and emanating a bad stench, had since been buried by the police in the area.

What caused the man’s unfortunate death, especially the circumstances leading to the body to float in the Kobri River, is not yet known by the police.

Top police investigators in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality, have commenced investigations to identify the cause of death, reports indicated.

According to eyewitnesses report, a farmer was returning from his farm around 1:30pm on Monday, when he saw the body of a dead man, floating on the river.

He quickly raised the alarm and people in the farming community, who were shocked about the discovery, quickly reported the case to the police.

A team of police men were the dispatched to the Kobri River to pick the lifeless body and begin investigations into what might caused the man’s death.

When the police arrived at the scene, the body was almost decomposed and there was bad smell around. The police then picked body for instant burial.

Checks made by The New Publisher, indicated that the man’s face was almost disfigured as the body had reached decomposed state already.

Other reports also said the police are not ruling out a possible murder, and so they have stretched their net wide, regarding their investigations.
