Sam George Holds Staff Durbar At Communications Ministry

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, as part of measures to get himself familiarized has held a staff durbar to engage with management and staff of the Ministry.

The meeting provided a platform for open dialogue on the Ministry’s vision, staff welfare, ongoing projects and the expectations for the new administration.

In his address, the Minister emphasized his commitment to working with all staff, regardless of political affiliation.

“We are a diverse people with different backgrounds and political views. However, my focus is not on who you are or who you voted for; my concern is the quality of work you do”, he stated.

Hon Sam Nartey George highlighted a significant shift in the Ministry’s structure, explaining that it now operates as a three-in-one entity namely Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.

To reflect this new focus, he announced the creation of two new directorates: the Digital Technology Directorate and the Innovations Directorate.

He also underscored the weight of responsibility that comes with his role, recognizing the legacy of the President, who previously served as Minister for Communications.

“This is literally his Ministry and he understands it inside out. That means expectations are high and we must deliver”, he remarked.

Hon. Nartey George reiterated his willingness to work as a team, emphasizing that honesty, hard work and a shared commitment to the Ministry’s success would drive their collective progress.

Encouraging teamwork and transparency, he urged staff to communicate openly about challenges and ideas for improvement.

“If you have an issue, raise it through the proper channels either through your Chief Director or your Director. Let’s solve problems together, not by complaining behind closed doors”, he advised.

In another development, the Ningo Prampram lawmaker also held a bilateral discussions with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ghana, H.E. Roey Gilad, aimed at strengthening the long-standing ties between the two nations.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation at various levels, including government-to-government and business-to-business engagements, as well as exploring new areas of collaboration.

The visit also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss diplomatic protocols and strategies for fostering mutual benefits in technology, innovation, and other key sectors.
