Shatta Wale plans grand white wedding with fiancée Maali

Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has revealed that he is planning a grand white wedding with his fiancée, Maali Della Tetteh, after completing their traditional marriage rites.

During an interview on PrimeTime with George Quaye on Joy Prime TV, the “Street Crown” hitmaker said he already considers himself married but wants a big church ceremony when the time is right. When asked about his marital status, Shatta Wale confidently replied, “I am married already. Or is it because I have not said it?”

He explained that he had formally met Maali’s family and received their blessings.

“The most important thing I have done with Maali is meeting her parents with some elders. Her father has truly accepted me,” he shared. The musician added that he presented traditional drinks and other symbolic items during the introduction ceremony.

Shatta Wale also revealed that he is saving up for a wedding he calls a dream event.

“I’m saving for that. I’m saving for my grand wedding,” he said.

The couple, who have been romantically linked since early 2023, first attracted public attention after Shatta released the song Maali, inspired by her. They share a child, and the dancehall star has described fatherhood with Maali as “one of the most grounding experiences” of his life.

Their affectionate posts on social media often show the strong bond between them, with Shatta Wale calling Maali his “peace” and “biggest motivation.” Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., Shatta Wale has been engaged before, but he says his connection with Maali feels “different” and “destined.”
