Shatta Wale’s ‘Project 1Cedi’ To Fight Unemployment

Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has announced that he is launching a new project titled “Project 1Cedi”, aimed at tackling unemployment among his fans.

The initiative encourages fans to contribute a small amount of money to support job creation within the Shatta Movement (SM) community. According to Shatta Wale, the goal is to use the collective strength of his large fan base to create employment opportunities and support one another.

In a post shared on social media on November 5, 2025, Shatta Wale called on his followers to take action by paying their dues to help create jobs. He said he had received numerous complaints from fans who are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet.

He wrote: “SM FANS LET’S START PAYING OUR DUES AND CREATE EMPLOYMENT OUT OF THAT. I AM GETTING TOO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT UNEMPLOYED FANS. I CAN’T DO IT ALL BUT WE ALL CAN.”

In another post, he revealed that preparations for the project are already underway, saying: “The PROJECT 1CEDI. COMING UP SOON!!”

Shatta Wale also announced that a committee will be formed to manage the project and ensure transparency. “Maqcoy Reports and Flex K Germain will establish a core committee for the #P-#1GHC so keep your eyes on their pages,” he stated.

His announcement sparked massive reactions across social media, with many fans praising his leadership and vision. Some expressed excitement about the initiative, describing it as a bold and thoughtful move to support unemployed youth. Others shared suggestions on how to make the project more effective.

One fan proposed linking members directly to job opportunities, while another recommended promoting electric cars and charging stations as part of the employment drive.

Some admirers even praised Shatta Wale’s influence, with one commenting, “Wale will do aaah then one day bam! EC will say: it is my honor and duty to declare Charles Nii Armah Mensah as the president-elect.” Another fan added, “We all go pay some Daddy.”
