Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo has asked Real Oviedo to allow him to leave in the next transfer window.
The international player, Sibo is frustrated by his reduced role at the struggling La Liga club.
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order this season as Oviedo sit 19th and fight to avoid relegation. His limited playing time has attracted interest from other clubs, with some already enquiring about his availability.
Sibo’s situation worsened after Veljko Paunovic was dismissed following poor results. New manager Luis Carrión, appointed in October 2025 to steady the team, has rarely used Sibo and seems to have moved on without him.
A regular starter for Ghana’s Black Stars, Sibo finds the contrast with his club role difficult to accept. He values consistent involvement and does not want to remain a fringe player.
So far this season, Sibo has made only seven appearances, totaling 323 minutes, a sharp drop from his key role last season. He played 38 times as Oviedo secured promotion to La Liga.
Now, Sibo feels a move is necessary to regain regular playing time and continue developing his career.
