Sista Afia blasts female colleagues

Ghanaian musician Francisca Gawugah known by the stage name Sista Afia has voiced her frustration over the lack of support from some female artistes in the industry.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, she expressed disappointment in colleagues who fail to reciprocate her kindness.

“Don’t ever do shows and call me. They know themselves,” she stated, criticizing artistes who seek her assistance but do not promote her music in return.

Beyond this, Sista Afia also highlighted the struggles of female musicians in Ghana, particularly the lack of appreciation for their hard work.

“I mean, I’ll speak for myself. I can’t speak for everyone, but I see that I work tirelessly. I work more than everyone, especially Adey grind waaa, and I need this thing. Without music, there’s no Sista Afia,” she explained.

She added that despite her extensive performances and contributions to the industry, many people fail to acknowledge her efforts.

“I don’t sleep; I sleep like three or four hours, then I’m back to business. I hardly sleep. Right now, I feel like it’s time to talk. It’s sad that people don’t see the work you put in, and that hurts me,” she said.

Determined to change the narrative, Sista Afia is now focusing on improving her branding and publicity. She acknowledged that her experience in the industry has helped her grow, and she is ready to adapt to make her brand more successful.

She is currently promoting her new song, Krekete Soja, which features rapper Amerado.
