SLYMAR Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated assorted items to Saviour Children Foundation, a children’s orphanage home located in Amanfro-Kingstown, Greater Accra, as part of its commitment to supporting underprivileged children in society.
The donation included children’s sandals, washing detergents, packs of toothbrushes and toothpaste, toiletries, soft drinks, bottled water, biscuits, and other essential items.
Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Director of SLYMAR Foundation, Samuel Yaw Larbi, explained that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by vulnerable children at the orphanage. He noted that supporting disadvantaged children, particularly those living in orphanages away from their family homes, has always been a core objective of the foundation.
Mr. Larbi emphasized that society has a collective responsibility to care for the poor and needy, stressing that such support should not be limited to festive occasions such as Christmas.
He therefore called on well-meaning individuals and organisations to extend support to the less fortunate in society.
The Organiser of SLYMAR Foundation, Daniel Kweku Assumang, also encouraged the children to maintain good behaviour and remain committed to their studies, noting that education would help them grow into responsible and influential members of society.
Receiving the items on behalf of the orphanage, the Director of Saviour Children Foundation, Patrick Opieshi Nwodobeh, expressed heartfelt appreciation to SLYMAR Foundation for the timely donation. He assured the foundation that the items would be put to good use for the benefit of the children and appealed to other individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture.
The children of the orphanage expressed excitement and gratitude for the donation and thanked the management of SLYMAR Foundation for their kindness and support.
