Spain: Man escapes wildfire

Dramatic footage shows a man narrowly escaping a wildfire in Tábara, northwestern Spain.

Angel Martin Arjona, 50, had been digging a trench to stop a fire from reaching his town when the flames closed in on him and he had to flee.

He was taken to hospital with severe burns and was now in a very serious condition, a family friend told Reuters.

Train experience

Passengers travelling on a Spanish train were alarmed as their train momentarily stopped and wildfires could be seen on both sides of the track.

The footage was captured in the Spanish province of Zamora.

A spokesperson from rail operator Adif told the Associated Press that the passengers were never in danger.
