Stop Private Jet Propaganda Against Mahama – Eric Adjei To Old Tafo MP

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr. Eric Adjei has asked the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah to desist from his negative narrative about President Mahama travels and get his facts right before publishing them.

“President Mahama departed Ghana on an Emirates flight from Accra to Dubai. Those spreading propaganda about his travel should begin to learn the facts. Get accurate information as a lawyer before you publish certain things. You cannot depend on hearsay for credibility. We all know the politics in this country — under President Akufo-Addo’s regime, private jets were rented for his foreign travels, which became a matter of contention at the time. We were in opposition then, and now in power” he said on Asempa FM ‘Ekosiisen’ panel discussion hosted by Philip Osei Bonsu, often referred to as O.B on Monday, August 18, 2025.

He added, “We spoke about it, and he wants to do the same thing to us by criticizing us, but we beat him to it. He is furious because our President Mahama, did not take private jets. He used a commercial flight with the registration number A6-EGZ, flight number EK-788.

“The operator of the flight was Emirates Airlines, the captain was Joel Jordon, and the route was Accra to Dubai. The number of passengers was six, and the departure date was Sunday, 17th August 2025, at 17:43 hours. I have every detail here. He used a commercial flight from Accra to Dubai and then transited from there with another commercial flight to his final destination.

“Every president, being the country’s treasure, has their presidential flight report recorded. Enough of the lies. Under our law, it is only required that the president informs the nation of his destination and not necessarily provide a detailed account of his stops during the journey.”

His comment comes after the MP had suggested that a private jet with registration M-BAEP departed Accra on the morning of Sunday, August 17, and claimed it may have been used by President Mahama.

He further estimated that the cost of the trip could be around $690,000.
