Stop Taking All The Lead Roles – Big Akwes to Lil Win

Ghanaian actor Big Akwes has called out fellow Kumawood star Lil Win for always casting himself in lead roles.

In a video shared on TikTok, Big Akwes said this habit limits creativity in Lil Win’s movies.

He criticised Lil Win for not giving other actors a chance to shine. Referring to a past film, he said:
“In the movie, you played the role of the president. Meanwhile, the president’s role doesn’t suit you. There was someone who would fit better in that role, but he will never consider the person.”

Big Akwes also commented on Lil Win’s upcoming biopic, The Last African Hero, based on Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré.

“In the trailer, you can see that he’s in almost all the scenes. He wants to do it all. Doing that can make people get bored with the movie. We need to tell him the truth,” he stated.

While the criticism gains attention, Lil Win is also in the news for warning Ghanaian TV stations against airing his movies without permission. In a video, he said many stations show his films without paying for the rights.

He advised broadcasters to invest in local productions instead of always promoting foreign soap operas. Lil Win warned that any station caught showing his movies illegally after the notice would face legal action.
