Suspected thief flogged …Police chases culprits

THE POLICE in Mamponteng near Kumasi are hunting for four suspects who have mercilessly flogged to pulp, a suspected thief.

The four suspects have since been identified as Lampard, Pharoah, Aguero and Atta, who are all residents of Adanwomase.

The suspects, allegedly, accused one Bismark Nyantakyi, the victim, of stealing so they infamously taught him a bitter lesson.

According to a police report, the suspects tied Nyantakyi to a pole and whipped him with canes and belts without showing mercy.

The suspects after manhandling the victim, have since gone into hiding to prevent arrest. Police have intensified search for them.

The Mamponteng District Police report said the incident occurred at Adanwomase in the Ashanti Region at 3pm on February 7, 2023.

“According to the victim, the suspects claim they saw him loitering in the house of suspect Pharaoh on the night of February 6, and they suspected him to have gone there to steal.

“Victim refuted their assertion and stated that he went to the said house to visit a friend, nicknamed ‘Party’, who lives in the same house”.

The police said Nyantakyi, personally, reported his ordeal to the police on February 8, 2023, adding that search for the suspects is underway.
