Erasmus Akoto, manager of Tamale-based rapper, Fancy Gadam, has disclosed that the artiste is still in total shock after his music concert scheduled for Saturday June 30 2018, was marred by a tragic accident.
According to him, the ‘Total Cheat’ hit maker is yet to come to terms with the incident, as he is still in shock and very devastated at the nature of the accident, most especially, the lives lost.
Speaking on Zylofon FM, he said “Fancy is still in Shock, all of us are in shock of what happened, it was less anticipated, from the day the incident happened to now, we’ve being trying to put ourselves together but as at now,I we are still in shock.”
Some fans of Fancy Gadam and staff members of Zylofon Cash were reported to have been involved in an accident on Thursday on their way to the Tamale Airport to welcome Patoranking ahead of Fancy Gadam’s concert which was scheduled for June 30.
A statement from Zylofon Cash indicated that “A cargo truck veered off its lane and drove straight into our convoy. It crashed into one of our vehicles and several motor bikes in the process.”
The ghastly accident claimed eight lives, six of which were his fans and the other two being staff of Zylofon media.
His management team had to call off the event due to the nature of the accident.
Erasmus Akoto has indicated that although the show has been cancelled, it is not indefinite, as management members are holding series of meetings to make sure a new day is scheduled for the show again.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior, has issued a fiat to ban musical concerts in the city, blaming Fancy and his team for being the cause of the accident and also accusing them of money rituals.
“We are not going to allow one single individual to take the whole Tamale to ransom. I have spoken to him, I have spoken to his managers but this young man would not listen. Why would you want to mobilize young men, innocent people on the street, just because you want to make money? You want to use the blood of the people to make money? We won’t tolerate that”, Superior stated.
