Tanker vehicle falls at Kaase

DRAMA UNFOLDED at Kaase, a suburb of Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region, on Sunday afternoon as scores of people siphoned diesel from a falling tanker.

This happened after a vehicle, which was filled to the brim with diesel, suddenly fell on its side, whilst negotiating a sharp curve at Kaase, a densely populated community.

The diesel started to pour out from the tanker and this attracted scores of people from all walks of life, including the elderly and the young, to the accident scene.

Interestingly, the people threw caution to the air as they clearly put their lives in great danger as they siphoned the inflammable product with buckets, gallons and other items.

There have been several instances in the country in the past, whereby tankers filled with diesel and petrol, had fallen and ignited fire outbreak to kill innocent people.

Surprisingly, the Kaase residents seemed unconcerned about the imminent danger facing them as they risked their lives and siphoned the diesel, gushing out from the tanker.

Some few people that seemed aware of the great danger that the fallen tanker posed to the community people and properties, warned the people to leave the crash scene.

Luckily, the tanker did not explode so no harm was caused to the people. Later on, fire fighters and security agents stormed the place and ordered the people to leave.
