The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region pending investigations into alleged sexual misconduct involving a female student of the same school.
The decision follows the circulation of a disturbing video on social media on Monday, June 15, 2026, which allegedly shows a man believed to be a science teacher at the school and a final year female student in the school’s science laboratories having sexual intercourse.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, the GES said it had become aware of the video and had immediately begun investigations into the matter.
The Service stressed that it strongly opposes all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting students within the country’s educational institutions.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” GES stated.
The Service further assured the public that anyone found responsible after investigations would face both disciplinary and legal consequences.
Before the intervention by the GES, authorities at Bole Senior High School had already begun internal investigations into the allegations.
Reports by Adom Online on June 15, 2026, confirmed that the said teacher, whose named has not yet been disclosed, is believed to be a science tutor at the school.
Following the emergence of the video online, school authorities reportedly activated disciplinary procedures and moved quickly to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
According to the report, a committee was expected to meet the teacher as part of the ongoing inquiry.
“Sources further indicate that a committee was scheduled to meet with the teacher on Monday, June 15, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation,” the report said.
