Techiman South gets free water from MP

Thousands of residents including women and children in the towns of Bomene, Woraso, Atabuorso and Panhosu all in the Techiman South constituency have expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the area, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah for proving them with clean potable water funded from his personal resources. 

Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, on Sunday, commissioned the boreholes and handed them over the communities in fulfillment of a campaign promise he made to them.

The much needed water projects, according to the Member of Parliament was a donation personal donation from him to ensure his constituents get clean water to help reduce the rate of water-borne diseases.

In short remarks, Hon. Adjei-Mensah Korsah noted that water was one of the basic needs for the survival of mankind hence his determination to provide quality water for his people.

“During my campaign, one of the major challenges which caught my attention was the lack of portable water in these communities. Some even walk for miles before getting access to water” he noted.

According to the MP, he promised to provide 17 boreholes, with about 10 mechanized.

Five (5) has been made ready for commissioning with the others to follow next week.

“This is just for the first phase and we are looking at adding another fifty for the second phase to these seventeen as promised” he revealed.

The Techiman South MP noted that some good amount of money was being invested into the water projects, and assured the people of his resolve to ensure all the various planned water projects were made ready and commissioned in his first term as a Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Alongside the water Commissioning was the provision of fertilizer for farmers in the entire Constituency to aid their farming activities. The beneficiary Communities as well as the others all received 20 bags of fertilizer each as a support for their farming work. One Thousand (1200) bags of fertilizer is earmarked for distribution in the first phase of the program.

Nana Kwaku Antwi, Chief of Atabourso commended the MP for his kind gesture by providing the communities with portable drinking water, which had been a major headache for them.

Nana Kwaku Antwi noted that water is life hence anyone who provides water should be seen as one who gives life.

He further advised Hon. Adjei-Mensah Korsah to continue exhibiting humility, showing love and affection to his constituents and assured the Member of Parliament that the people would support him on any day due to his kind-heartedness towards the needy and deprived in society.
