AN 18 YEAR girl has sadly left the world after she was reportedly knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
Identified as Christiana Awuah, the now deceased, was knocked down by a RAV4 car, which was being driven at top speed.
Christiana, according to the police, did not die on the spot so she was rushed to the hospital to help save her life.
Unfortunately, the teenager, who sustained severe body injuries, succumbed to death whilst being treated of her injuries.
The Asokwa Divisional MTTD, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2025 in front of the Ramsey Vocational School Junction on the Estero to Atonsu road at 3pm.
The police, however, said the driver in charge of the vehicle left the scene after the accident and he has since not been seen.
“The unidentified driver is yet to report to Police whilst the crashed vehicle is also impounded for testing by the DVLA”.
About how the accident happened, the police said “an unidentified driver in charge of Toyota RAV4 vehicle with registration No GE 667-22 was driving from Esereso direction towards Atonsu.
“That on reaching a section of the road in front of Ramsey vocational school junction, he veered off from his lane and knocked down a female pedestrian Christian Awuah aged about 18 years.
“She sustained various degree of injuries and rushed to Kumasi south hospital for medical attention but passed away while receiving medical attention”.
The police assured that they are doing their best to apprehend the hit-and-run driver to assist in their investigations.
