The Triumph Women Awards 2026: Celebrating Women, Recognising Excellence and Building Legacies

The Triumph Women Awards 2026 climaxed the 2026 She Triumph initiative on Sunday, September 27, with 44 women recognised for excellence, leadership, resilience, innovation and their contributions to society.

Held at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, the awards ceremony was powered by DebbyQueen Productionsand HappyMan Bitters, bringing together accomplished women, entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, business leaders, advocates, sponsors and other stakeholders committed to advancing women’s empowerment and social impact.

The 2026 edition celebrated women whose work continues to make a difference across various sectors of Ghanaian society, while providing a platform to highlight stories of determination, service, achievement and transformation.

Mary Anane Awuku Crowned Triumph Woman of the Year

One of the major highlights of the evening was the crowning of Mrs. Mary Anane Awuku as the Triumph Woman of the Year, the ultimate award of the night.  Her recognition reflects her demonstrated leadership, entrepreneurial achievements and contribution to education, business development and women’s empowerment.

The award also reinforces the central philosophy of the Triumph Women Awards: that women who create meaningful impact deserve not only recognition, but also a platform through which their stories can inspire others.

Honouring Women of Distinction

The awards recognised 17 women in honorary categories, celebrating individuals whose leadership, service and contributions have created significant impact in their respective fields.

Among the distinguished honourees was Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, who received the Triumph Lifetime Legacy of the Year Award in recognition of her exceptional contributions and enduring influence.

Rev. Mrs. Josephine Pearl Fosu-Kwakye was honoured as Triumph Christian Leader of the Year, recognising her leadership and contribution to Christian ministry and society.

Other distinguished honorary recipients included Mrs. Janet Sunkwa-Mills, Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, Mrs. Diana Hopeson, Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi, and other accomplished women whose journeys continue to inspire.

A Call for Purposeful Leadership

The Board Chair of the Triumph Women Awards and Managing Director of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mrs. Doris Kwekwor Adjei, delivered a powerful message encouraging women to embrace purposeful leadership.

Her address was delivered on her behalf by Precious Ed-Peters Wilson.

“True leadership is measured by the lives you influence, not the titles you attain.”

The message emphasised the importance of women using their positions, experiences and achievements to create opportunities for others.

It further underscored the belief that when one woman rises, she can create pathways for countless others to rise with her.

Recognising Excellence Across Diverse Sectors

Beyond the honorary categories, the competitive awards recognised women across a broad range of sectors, reflecting the diversity of women’s contributions to Ghana’s development.

The categories covered executive leadership, maternal care, child development and education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, community development, creative arts, culinary services, energy, fashion, healthcare, media, mental health advocacy, philanthropy, real estate, technology, wellness and social impact, among others.

This diversity demonstrates that women’s impact extends far beyond traditional definitions of leadership. From boardrooms and classrooms to farms, creative spaces, healthcare facilities, communities and technology-driven enterprises, women continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The Impact Created by the Triumph Women Awards

The Triumph Women Awards goes beyond the presentation of trophies. At its core, the initiative seeks to shine a spotlight on women whose achievements, leadership and community contributions deserve greater visibility.

The 2026 edition celebrated women not only for professional accomplishments, but also for resilience, service, innovation, entrepreneurship and social impact.

By recognising these women, the platform creates an opportunity for their stories to be documented and shared with a wider audience. Each story becomes a source of encouragement for another woman, a young girl, an aspiring entrepreneur or a future leader who may be navigating similar challenges.

The awards demonstrate that women can lead organisations, build successful businesses, break barriers, create employment, serve communities and establish legacies that extend beyond their individual achievements.

Creating Connections and Opportunities

Her Blueprint; Her Legacy

The 2026 theme, “Her Blueprint; Her Legacy,” captured the deeper philosophy behind the initiative.

The theme challenges women to think beyond personal achievement and consider what they are building for the generations that will come after them.

A blueprint represents the vision, values, knowledge and structures a woman develops throughout her journey, while legacy represents the lasting impact those efforts leave behind.

The theme therefore encourages women to build careers, businesses, institutions, families, communities and movements that can continue to create value long after their individual accomplishments have been celebrated.
