“The Vagina Is A Hospital” ― Oheneba Ntim-Barimah

It would be really sad to live through life without stories of the famous ‘vagina’ to tell. But most of the time the story of a female genitalia can only be told through the power of the ink.

Many women, and recently some men, may think they know the in and out of their sex organ; but then, it’s a pretty mysterious place.

Outspoken and controversial, radio presenter and Natural Medicine campaigner, Oheneba Ntim Barimah has stated that the female sex organ has not just been created for sex and its aftermaths, but that, “the vagina is a hospital.”

Startling as it may sound, the natural medicine crusader took time to justify his position―he tells the story of how a vagina saved his life.

According to him, when he was much younger, he had gone to the farm with his grandmother and was bitten by a giant spider which, according to many, could be poisonous.

“When you are bitten by a wild spider, until all the fire in the community quenches, your skin would burn and you would know that indeed something had happened to you,” he said.

Still recounting the revealing episode, Oheneba said when the insect bit him, all he could do was to shout “Ma wu, ma wu” to wit, “I’m dead, I’m dead.”

“I saw that my grandmother put her finger in her private part and brought some fluid there and smeared it on the part where I had been bitten and the pain vanished like magic,” he revealed.

For Oheneba, the first thought that crossed his mind was if his grandmother was a witch? And until he started researching into natural medicine, he never knew what miracles the vagina could wrought aside offering the most pleasurable desire a man could have.

Inside the vagina

“Inside the female sex organ there are some acids that kill bacteria,” Oheneba revealed.

He continued: “That is why doctors advise that women should not wash their private parts too much or wash it with soap…when you wash them with harsh products, you end up removing those acids that prevent bacteria from going into the vagina. That was the acid my grandmother smeared after the spider’s poisonous bite.”

“It is not only sexual satisfaction that one gets from the vagina but that place is also a hospital,” he reiterated.

Based on his knowledge and experience, Oheneba believes that alternative medicine is more effective than western or conventional medicine and must not be looked down upon.

He made this revelation at a Public Lecture on Alternative Medicine, organised by the Dr. Nyarkotey College of Holistic Medicine, held at Ashaiman, last week.

Oheneba Ntim-Barimah is the founder of the Soul, Health and Wellness Centre and a presenter on Accra-based Oman FM.
