TOP 10 GOSPEL SONGS IN 2018

With no proper research and proper findings, some Ghanaian radio and television presenters sit on their platforms saying: the gospel music industry is dead, the gospel industry is dying, there is no hit song in the country which is gospel, gospel artistes are not doing well in terms of song writing (Content), production and performance, gospel musicians are poor and more…

After a thorough research conducted by Remedi Entertainment, from all the ten regions of Ghana: On radio, Television, street, online and in private discussions with Top industry players  we can confidently say our gospel musicians are doing their best but we are not appreciating their effort.

If we appreciate their effort, we will not invite Nigerian artistes like: Eben, Steve Crown, Preye, Sinach and others to ALWAYS headline our MAJOR gospel shows.

Thepublisheronline.com has its findings from beginning of the year 2018, from 1st January to 31st October, the gospel fraternity can record a lot of well composed songs that are doing well in the system.

1  MO NE YO BY DIANA HAMILTON

Gospel songstress Diana Hamilton’s new song “Mo Ne Yo” (pronounced Moe-Ni-Yor) is a Twi congratulatory phrase that means ‘Well done’ is the biggest gospel song doing extremely well in Ghana. It was officially released on 1stAugust.

The latest song ‘Mo ne yo’ which is on Diana’s “iBelieve” album according to our research is the song churches, radio stations, the street do sing daily making it the biggest gospel song in 2018 at the moment.

It is a song of appreciation to the Lord, thanking Him of how well he has dealt with us. The song also reminds us to count our blessings and echoes Psalm 103:2 ‘Bless the Lord o my Soul and forget not His benefits’

The song was produced by Kaywa, mixed and mastered by Highly Spiritual Music.

The classic music video was directed by Flashback Media.

 

  1. I SWERVE YOU- BY JOYCE BLESSING:

Gospel songstress Joyce Blessing’s first song release in 2018 dubbed” I swerve you” is one of the biggest gospel songs in the country. The song was released on 12th March.

Joyce Blessing highlights God’s superior protection over her life parading a great deal of awe- inspiring lyrical content in the song produced by Zylofon Music’s producer called Linkin.

Joyce has released a new song titled ‘Onyankopon’ which is also doing very well.

Though he is not widely known or not in the mainstream, this song has not been ignored in any gospel Dj’s play list at gospel events, social gathering, radio and Television. The Hit Gospel tune from The Akrugu Hitz Maker Evang I K Aning called Bobolebobo was Produced By Ofasco Ne Beat

4.ODE ABA BY MABEL OKYERE
Award winning and Spirit filled gospel artiste Mabel Okyere on Sunday 23rd September  released  her first single in the year 2018 titled Ode aba  which features controversial gospel artiste Brother Sammy produced by Shaa.

The song ‘Ode aba’ speaks about the glory and possession the devil took from us as Christians and has been returned after years. 2nd Samuel Chapter 6 explains further about the song. Since our lives are not in the hands of the devil, there’s nothing he can do than to give us our belonging. It is both prophetic and thanksgiving song which can transform lives and win souls for Christ.

Ode aba is the biggest song in Kumasi at the moment.

 

  1. HOSSANA BY KODATalented musician Kofi Owusu Dua Anto popularly known as Koda released his new single ‘Hossana’ which can also be called ‘Yesu Adi Nkunim’ due to the catchy phrase in May,2. The song highlights the triumph of Jesus over Satan and the need to adore and worship. The song was recorded live at the koded Studios, owned by Koda. His song is doing very well and qualifies to be in the top 10 songs in Ghana at the moment.

The name Joe Mettle has become tantamount with good gospel music in the industry.

On August 30, 2018, Joe Mettle released a new single titled ‘My Everything’ which has been accepted by all and sundry.

The only gospel artiste to have won the Vodafone Ghana music awards artiste of the year has been very active than before.

He keeps getting higher and higher

 

7.BIGGER BY CELESTINE DONKOR :

Finest gospel songstress, Celestine Donkor’s new single ‘Bigger’ which features the award winning Nigeria’s gospel artiste Steve Crown which is doing well both in Ghana and across.

The song ‘Bigger’ was beautifully produced by Ko’rale under the Dynamics Unlimited record label

 

  1. SANE- A.R.O ADJEIA.R.O Adjei is not a popular name known in the Ghanaian gospel fraternity but his new song ‘Sane’ featuring Nana Yaw Asare produced by Akaak is doing very well on radio across the country.

Ghanaian Gospel musician who is also a custom officer, Mr Aro Daniel Adjei has taken over the airwaves months after releasing his second album titled “Hossana”.

The album which has ten quality tracks features top musicians like Gifty Osei, Selina Boateng, Hannah Marfo and others.

 

  1. NO WEED BY AKESSE BREMPONG

No Weed’, a reggae song full of electrifying power to transform and deliver by the award winning Ghanaian gospel reggae artiste Akesse Brempong was released on 22nd May and till date the song is doing very well.

 

  1. M’ADANSEDIE BY ROSE ADJEI

Under the auspices of RAAM Records and Remedi Entertainment, Rose Adjei released her new song on 24th July titled ‘M’adansidie’ featuring Oheneba Clement which was produced by De Thompson (D.D.T). M’adansedie was officially released on 24th July and it also doing well making it part of the Top 10 gospel songs in Ghana.

There are songs from: Steven Oil, Efe Grace, Obaapa Christy, Patience Nyarko, Chemphe and many others  that are doing very well but because we are not accepting them, it seems they are not doing their best.

The above ten songs listed are songs known and accepted by majority of gospel audience.

Let’s appreciate the good works of our gospel artistes and push them to the next level.
