TV Houses Refuses To Guide Child Stars – LilWin

Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has called out some media houses in Ghana for neglecting children who win talent-based reality shows.

In a video shared on September 8, 2025, LilWin expressed disappointment, saying that many of these children are left without proper support once the competition ends, despite the huge revenues the shows generate.

“Some of these reality shows are now in season 10, and the rest. Look at the amount of money they generate from votes. After a season, these TV houses should keep the winners of these shows and give them proper management,” he said.

According to him, the winners deserve more than just a token prize. LilWin argued that media houses should help winners by signing them onto proper record labels, securing ambassadorial deals, or managing their careers to ensure long-term growth. This, he explained, would strengthen Ghana’s creative arts industry instead of letting young talents fade away.

“It is better than just giving them a small fraction of the money and leaving them to waste,” he added.

The actor also sympathized with parents, especially mothers, who spend large sums of money to support their children during these competitions. He lamented that after such sacrifices, the ultimate winners are often abandoned by the organizers while a new season begins.

LilWin urged media houses to rethink their approach, stressing that real investment in the winners could create future stars who would benefit the industry and the nation as a whole.
