Veep applauds ‘This Is Ghana’ exhibition

Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia on over the weekend graced an exhibition of indigenous products, dubbed “This Is Ghana” but together by Citi FM and Citi TV in Accra.

Dr. Bawumia took to his Facebook wall to share his experience: “I was quite impressed by the number of Made in Ghana products on display; from simple things such as tiger nut cookies, beautifully–designed fabrics, shoes, ‘alata samina’ soap, to locally manufactured poultry feeds for farmers, as well as technological innovations like locally-assembled vehicles and machinery for farmers and digital applications, which connect sellers and buyers.

“The presence of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and the Exim Bank Ghana was refreshing, because we do not want our local producers to sell their products only here in Ghana. We also want them to expand and be able to export, through the support of institutions like the GIPC and the Exim Bank.

“Kudos to Citi FM and all other partners who came together to make this good initiative possible. Government, on its part, will continue to put in place measures to support our local industries.”
