VGMA 2019: Samini tips ‘Gringo’ to win Raggae/Dancehall Song of the Year

With barely 2 hours to the prestigious (Vodafone) Ghana Music Awards, many have tipped their respected Artistes into winning various categories.

The historic 20th anniversary has generated a lot of talks both on traditional media, online and various social media platforms.

However Dancehall artiste Samini has called for an obvious win for his arch-rival Shatta Wale in the Raggae/Dancehall Song of the Year slot.

In an interview with Mzgee on ShowbizAtoZ on Joy FM, Samini believes Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly song GRINGO deserves to win the category.

”Gringo did so well for the year under review, it was that popular. I think it deserves Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year. I won’t be surprise if Shatta wins that category” he said.

The Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year however has nominees such as Maccasio – Dagomba Girl feat Mugeez, Shatta Wale – Gringo, Stonebwoy – Top Skanka and Samini – Obaa.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards night is a night where all the guess works, speculations concerning who wins what comes to rest as winners of the various categories grab their awards at the biggest event on the entertainment calendar in the country.

Tonight’s event is scheduled to start at 7pm with a red carpet segment hosted by radio and television presenter Giovanni Caleb and actress Sika Osei.

The glitzy event will be laced with music perfomances. It will be a night where the 4s—Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy rock the stage alongside the 4Ks—Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, KiDi and King Promise.

Also mounting the stage are Medikal and Gospel musician, Diana Hamilton, Amakye Dede, Barima Sydney among others.
