VGMA Artist Of The Decade: Sarkodie Wears The Crown
Sarkodie has been named VGMA 2019 Artist Of The Decade at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Saturday, May 18th, 2019.
He won the slot over Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, R2Bees, and gospel singer Joe Mettle.
Charterhouse defines artist of the decade as an artist who “over the last decade, they (the artists) have had the biggest impact, earned multiple nominations across the years in the VGMAs, have been relevant on the Ghanaian music scene and beyond; been very influential in music and showbiz and their craftsmanship in the industry has been phenomenal!”
The ‘Artiste of the Decade award’ is honored every ten years and the 2009 edition was won by Kojo Antwi.
